All-mom bands shatter the stereotypes
How can you not love a band called Frump? It's just one of the approximately fifty known bands across the country which were started by moms looking to break out and bust some of the mom stereotypes out there. Joy Rose, the 47-year-old mother of four who founded the band Housewives on Prozac, says that having a rock band has reminded her of a sense of importance and vitality. "Life is really short and it's important to live colorfully," Rose told the Associated Press. The children of rocker moms are benefiting too: the members of Frump got their daughters involved, and they formed their own band called Spawn. You can catch one of these mom bands at a Mamapalooza
show this spring.
