New season of "SpongeBob" premieres May 6

Partly to prevent SpongeBob over-saturation because of last fall's "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie," Nickelodeon has been releasing new episodes of "SpongeBob" sporadically.

That all changes Friday, May 6, when "Fear of a Krabby Patty"/"Shell of a Man" premieres, marking the first new SpongeBob in a year-and-a-half. It kicks off the 4th season of "SpongeBob" featuring 20 new half-hour episodes airing every Friday at 8:30 p.m.

"SpongeBob SquarePants" premiered six years ago and has been the top-rated kid's show for the last three (not that there's anything wrong with that).
