When swaddling is too hard

cozy cocoon

When you first become a parent to a tiny infant you hear "Swaddle! Swaddle! Swaddle!" from everyone. And yes, we found that swaddling worked to calm our baby and keep him content. But the truth is, I was never any good at swaddling. My husband had it down pat—he could make a baby burrito in 15 seconds flat. My swaddles fell apart if the baby so much as hiccupped.

If only I had known about the Cozy Cocoon! It looks like it has the same effect as a blanket swaddled around a baby, but there's no tricky folding and tucking involved. (Yes, folding and tucking can be very tricky when you've only had about 45 minutes sleep.) The company makes several different types of "cocoons" for babies. There's the original cocoon, the Sweet-Pea, the Baby Bunting, and the Snug Bug.  They come in different types of fabrics and fun colors and patterns. They range in price from $18-$35.
