Woman gives birth to identical quadruplets

identical quadruplets born

A Houston, Texas woman gave birth to a set of identical quadruplets without the use of fertility drugs, a rare occurance that has only happened fewer than 50 times in recorded history. The four girls, Adele, Bonnie, Chloe, and Daphne, were born to mother Shelley Breedlove, who is an identical twin herself. Two of the babies were born two months ago, and may get to leave the hospital this week. The quadruplets each weighed about two to two-and-a-half pounds when they were born. Breedlove says she can't tell them apart and plans to use ankle bracelets to keep them straight.

Edit: Though the original news article we linked to reported that the babies were born on different days, this much more thorough article says that all four girls were born on the same day in March.
