Australian woman pregnant with second set of quadruplets
Categories: Pregnancy & Birth, Medical Conditions
An Australian woman, Dale Chalk, and her husband Darren welcomed two sons and two daughters into the world last
August when their quadruplets were born. Now Chalk is pregnant with quadruplets again, due in December. Doctors say
this may be the first time in the world that this has happened.
The couple also have a two-year-old daughter which means that they will have nine children under the age of three when
the second quadruplets are born. All of the couple's children were conceived using the same anonymous sperm donor
because Mr. Chalk has a condition that prevents him from producing live sperm. The family lives under the same roof as
Mrs. Chalk's parents, and her mother quit her job to help look after the children. While their doctor is concerned
about the repeat multiple pregnancy, the Chalks are delighted by the second set of quads.

Why wouldn't they be delighted? Now the government, not to mention solicited businesses, will be compelled to provide housing, transportation, clothing, food, and college scholarships to ALL the children. It amazes me how many parents who were responsible in their family planning struggle to provide and could use just a tiny bit of help financially get overlooked because of people like this who decide to turn pregnancy into a freak show...and they are rewarded with lifetime funding for not only the necessaties, but the luxuries, as well.

I compleatly agree with the first comment, It is not right that they keep having all these children when I am assuming that they can not take care of on there own, I feel like this 3rd pregnancy is really immature and selfish, those poor children will never get enough one on one time with thier parents. There comes a time when you have to think of others besides yourself, and it seems that the time for them has come and gone. I think if you are that immature that you should have to pay back every penny the government puts out to support your children. And as for companies and schools, they shold not encorage this freak show with free merchandise and educations, the parents should be made responsible for thier actions! 9 kids that is way to many!!

I give credit to the parents and the grandparents for raising that many babies...Its a lot of hard work...If they become good people I see no reason for the government not to help that family...What I'm trying to say is that if those babies grow up and be doctors....They may be working on Michell and Cathy's grand kids some day....I hope then you'll be thanking the government for their support in helping those kids.

These people must be total masochists. What else could explain their actions? All the free stuff in the world wouldn't make me want to have two sets of quads and a two-year-old! The righteous indignation in the first two comments seems a little misplaced. If someone is crazy enough to want two human litters, whose business is it to stop them? Certainly punishing the innocent kids for their parents' colossal lack of common sense is not the answer?

I never said that the childern should be punished... I am just saying if everyone would quit handing out free everything that they would not have all these children......and I also saw the article where she said that she wants more, 12 all together....do you think if they had to take care of all these children that they would want 12? I think that she is punishing her kids with her actions.... how much one on one time and attention are these kids going to get with thier parents? If that is what they want is to have 12 kids then fine, I just think that they should be held responsible for thier actions. I also think that one of her reasons for having so many is all the attention that is thrown at them, it must really make them feel special to have 2 sets possibly 3 (after this one) of quads.

i think its highly irresponsible. basically if they cant afford to house and care for their children themselves they shouldnt be having more. i have 4 and that is it for us. i would never plan on more as i know that my kids would miss out on too much attention that they need. if my children ended up with quads yes i would help as much as i could BUT if they then planned on more children esp when the first 5 were still only babies and toddlers themselves i would tell them 'sorry u are on your own with the next one/s. i love my children and i know i will love any future grandchildren but saying that i wasnt put on this earth to spend the REST of my life raising babies full time.

I feel very, very sorry for those poor children. There is no possible way that, even if they didn't have jobs, any two parents could take care of 9 children under the age of 3. The Chalk's should have counted their blessings with the first quadruplets and left it at that. My heart goes out to these kids! I hope the Chalks have a lot of money so they can pay for all of their children's phyciatric bills in the future.

I understand where everyone is comming from, but we need people in this world that loves kids as much as that family must. But also, Before I went and had more of my own, Id consider adobtion...theres a lot of misplaced kids out there in the world. Still, If they can raise doctors, and chemists etc. etc. then theyve made this world a better place.

"I understand where everyone is comming from, but we need people in this world that loves kids as much as that family must."
Quoted by "A" above
--As a parent who truly loves their children they would want the very best for them. There is no way they have enough time between the two of them to give all of those babies the kind of one-on-one attention that they deserve. Having love for kids isn't popping out so many that you have 9 under the age of 3 yrs and can't take care of them all.

Shame on your negative comments. What judgement! It is clearly a miracle that these babies can be born to parents who seemingly adore and welcome them. Each birth is an amazing gift. Why not spend your energy offering them help (even just words of support!) instead of just critizing!
