Preschool dance party
My older daughter, "Bunny," has always had a thing for music, but now that she is three-years-old, she has definite opinions on what "good music" is. For example, Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" passes the preschool test because it is "really great for marching." She also enjoys Mariah Carey's latest chart-topper "We Belong Together" because it "sounds like a lullabye." Of course, Bunny also loves Laurie Berkner (her first concert) and Lisa Loeb's children's music, but she also runs around the living room shouting "Drop it like it's hooooooot!" (a recent Snoop Dogg's hit). We have "dance party time" every day. My husband and I sing to our girls all the time. He composes electronica so music is truly the soundtrack of our lives. We couldn't be more pleased that she enjoys music, but sometimes her musical choices leave us scratching our heads. What's on your preschooler's playlist?

Victor Agreda, Jr. said...We're getting that WMBG album of the alphabet (thanks Noggin). And Laurie Berkner is a goddess. We also listen to some Disney songs (Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, the good stuff), and for the kiddies those barely tolerable Little People CD's. Just one for now, but it has all those preschool hits.
Belle likes anything with a good beat. When she was around 1 I got video of her dancing to "Start the Commotion" by the Wiseguys. She loves to dance! Lately she's enamored with the original Willy Wonka soundtrack...
