Mothers find connection on Literary Mama

Amy Hudock, the founder of the Literary Mama Web site, says her need to connect with other mothers and her love of writing propelled her to start the site. She is the subject of a recent article in the Knight Ridder news service. Hudock says that online communities like hers will continue to grow because mothers' need for support and connection will always be there. "In the middle of the night you get up to nurse your baby, and you can't go back to sleep. This is how you connect," said Hudock. Next January, selections from Literary Mama will be featured in a book called Literary Mama: Reading for the Maternally Inclined, published by Seal Press.
