Noggin - or, how I get extra sleep in the morning
Filed under: Media
O how I dread when my girls wake up at 6:00 am, a full hour before they normally do. I don't know what it is about that extra hour of sleep but it makes all the difference between chipper, good-mood mom and grounchy, gimme-a-wide-berth mom. Thank the universe for Noggin. When the girls wake up well before I am ready for them to, they pile into the bed with us and we click on the TV. They can sit happily entertained by 64 Zoo Lane or Laurie Berkner while the tired parents catch some extra Z's. Normally we try to limit the TV watching in our home, but desperate times call for desperate measures. What do you do to try and get a few more minutes of sleep (sweeeeet sleep) in the morning?

Now, the eldest (almost 5) goes downstairs to play Nintendo, and the younger two come into our room or go downstairs for a few minutes before coming up. I get the extra sleep by having my husband get up with them. I am so lucky. :)

I can't believe someone else does the EXACT same thing as we do!
64 Zoo Lane has been a life-savor in the morning and here I thought I was being a bad mother. We have Tivo and I also mix-it-up with Zoboomafoo, nothing like those Kratt Brothers.

Jamie said...My kids totally hooked on Laughing Pizza, which is an Atlanta based band but can be also heard in XM radio. I don't know where else they play, but you can visit their website at www.laughingpizza.com
It would allow us to get extra sleep, but the kids have figured out how to turn up the volume.....!
