Mercedes R-class, as seen by Daddy Types

Stefania and I were raving over the desirability of Mercedes' new R-class, the minivan for people who are into conspicuous consumption. And I guess, they're here! Daddy Types has a good story about checking out the R500 - the $70,000 minivan. The "friendly dealer" was reassuring him that the car wasn't just for moms in Michael Kors separates. He told Greg "he'd just sold one to a guy in Potomac, two kids, who took it to the tennis club and all the other dads wanted to try it out [emphasis his]. This was a dad's car, he said." Well, if it's for dads, no wonder it's 70 large!
