Temporary tattoos to help locate lost child
Filed under: Health & Safety: Babies
Here's an interesting product I saw while browsing a local
parenting magazine today. Tattoos With a Purpose offers temporary tattoos which leave a space for you to write your
phone number on your child in case you are seperated in a public place, like the zoo or amusement park.
The idea isn't a bad one, my daughter knows our phone number but hasn't learned our cellphone numbers yet. However, when I showed my husband he said, "Wouldn't a Sharpie work?" Have you used this product? Do you think it's a good idea?

meg said...my sister made a beaded necklace for my neice when they went to Disney World that said, "if I am lost, call my mom at +++ +++ ++++" and that was that. The nice thing is, it's reusable.

When we have been on vacation with them, we take those with us and they wear them whenever we leave the hotel room. We put a slip of paper into the belly bag with our hotel name, address and phone as well as our cel phone numbers and what date we plan to check out of the hotel. The kids all know that if they get lost, they find 1. someone who works where they are at OR 2. a policeman OR 3. a mom with kids with her and give them that paper.

The temporary tattoo seems to fall in the "leash" category of child protection gear. It might be effective, but I'd think it would attract more negative attention than it's worth.
