Vegan parents convicted on child neglect charges
Categories: Health & Safety, Media
I wrote recently about Joseph and Lamoy Andressohn, who were brought up on charges of aggravated manslaughter and
child neglect after their six-month-old girl Woyah was
found dead in their home. The Andressohn's trial is complete, and the couple have been convicted on four counts of
child neglect, but found not guilty of manslaughter. According to CNN, jurors seemed to believe the defense argument
that it was a genetic disorder that killed Woyah, and
not the radical diet the Andressohns were feeding their malnourished children. Florida Assistant State Attorney Herbert
Walker admitted he was "confused" by the verdict, as he believed the case for manslaughter was stronger than the case
for neglect.
The Andressohns say they are looking forward to reuniting with their kids. That may not happen, given that they face
anything from probation to 20 years in prison at their sentencing. Personally, I'm leaning closer to the "20 years" end
of the spectrum.

Okay, so here it is.
How about the title for this post being "neglectful parents" or even "neglectful vegan parents", instead of just "vegan parents"?
The verdict doesn't make a lot of sense to me either.
