When girls attack … Barbie

According to an academic study reported by the UK’s Telegraph, Barbie dolls have so lost their value to today’s children that they “maim, burn or microwave them to show their disgust.”  Apparently, experts at Bath University in England have determined that girls attack their Barbie’s as a symbol of their rejection of “consumer society.”  Dr. Agnes Nairn, who led the research, stated “Barbie provoked rejection, hatred and violence.”

Color me skeptical, but as intelligent as today’s children are, I’d still wager Barbie gets condemned to the microwave just ‘cause it’d be cool to see what happens.
