Katie Holmes' ex won't be sending baby gifts

katie holmes and chris klein before the breakup Chris Klein doesn't plan to shower his ex-fiancee, Katie Holmes, with baby gifts, once she gives birth to her and Tom Cruise's little bundle of, umm, joy.

Katie and Chris were engaged after falling in love on the set of Dawson's Creek, but called off the wedding in March 2005. Klein says, "Her and my relationship is a time in the past. And it's a time that I'll always look back with in fondness, but her and I have moved on, and she has a separate life and I have a separate life. And it's better that we keep it that way."

It may come as a surprise to Hollywood media, but not many ex-boyfriends would send baby gifts to a child conceived only months after their relationship ended. Strike that. Very few ex-boyfriends would send baby gifts, at all. Mine certainly didn't. Is there some newsworthiness that I'm missing here... or are Katie and I just the only ones in the world with ex-boyfriends who'd rather not honor the child of another man with booties and diaper wipe warmers?

Yeah, no.

I think the media just keeps asking Chris about Katie because they are trying to drum up some controversy. You are right Sarah; I certainly wouldn't expect, nor want, a baby gift from a former boyfriend. Too creepy.
