Top baby stories of 2005: #1 Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes

Categories: Pregnancy & birth, Media

katie holmes and tom
cruiseWhat dominated our headlines, and our search results, for 2005? It had to have been Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. As if Tom hadn't created enough buzz by dissing on Brooke Shields for using Paxil when she was suffering from almost lethally severe post-partum depression, he managed to get Katie Holmes pregnant, and then do about every other bizarre thing you can imagine the father-of-a-baby-scientologist- to-be doing. And then some.

While we were wondering whether Katie was further along than she was admitting, if her dad was mad about the unwed pregnancy, if her family was peeved about the Scientology, whether she was endangering her baby by ice skating while pregnant, when she would marry (in Mexico?), and whether she would give up acting to stay at "home" with the kids, Tom was busy. First it was rumored that he was asking Katie to do a drug-free, silent Scientology birth. Then, it turned out that he was going to allow her to scream during labor, a bit, if she needed to. He bought Katie a sonogram machine so they could watch the little Cruise-to-be at home.

Finally, it was reported that Tom Cruise wants to try male lactation. And then, we shut the site down, because we had heard it all. [Kidding! We didn't shut the site down. Because we have to wait and see if he does it.]
