Demi Moore's kids know all about grooming!
This is one of those news items that make you wonder: is the star in question really this
vainglorious? Or did the media pull out the most damning part of an hour-long interview to make her look like a tool?
For instance, this piece from Contact Music has Demi Moore's kids raving about her sense of style, with daughter Rumer
calling her mom "one of
the most unbelievably stylish women ever". Well, cool. We'll be sure that People Magazine's Committee for the Most
Unbelievably Stylish Hollywood Mother Ever Issue gets the Good Word. But, come on. Surely this isn't the only lavish
praise the kids heaped on their mom? It certainly can't be the most important. If you're to believe this interview
excerpt, it sounds like the reporter asked the kids what they thought of their mom, and Rumer and Tallulah stared at
their feet for 30 solid seconds before it occurred to Rumer to look up and shout, "She's stylish!" -
with Tallulah concurring by nodding in furious relief. Surely there's more to recommend Ms. Moore as a mother beyond the
fact that she always picks the most couture shoes?

meg said...Are you kidding??!!! To have your daughter say in a national magazine that she thinks you're stylish is a HUGE compliment. It goes beyond clothes Jay, it's a statement of understanding and acceptance. I would never, ever, call my mother stylish! And I doubt that any child of mine will ever call me stylish either... No offense, but you're a guy and this may not ring to you. However, its the equivalent of your kid saying in PC magazine that you're the best Doom player ever. See, it's a good thing.

That Girl said...Plus, really Jay, on some days the fact that your teenager could find ONE good thing to say about you is... well, I'd be happy with "She's not totally lame."
Maybe Meg wasnt like that, in which case you should buy her something nice.
I also just remembered when my son (at 8) was going through an evaluation and asked to describe his family. He said I was his only family. When asked to describe me he said "She has really soft hair. But a lot of split ends." My parenting in a nutshell.
So Im thinking Demi should really buy her kids something nice.
