High School scuba club plays underwater Monopoly
Categories: Toys & Games
Jay Allen really doesn't like
Monopoly, he might even say he hates it. But a group of scuba diving students at a high school in Connecticut like
it enough to play it underwater. 10 members of the diving class spent 5 hours playing Monopoly submerged in 12 feet of
water in the school's swimming pool. The board was printed on a 4 x 4 foot sheet of Plexiglass. Currency was represented by colored washers, the dice were custom-made of brass and the property deeds were laminated and held down with binder clips.
Of course it's not the first time scuba divers have played Monopoly underwater, but still I wonder how they kept the hotels from floating away?

I've wondered the same thing about the hotels before (http://divester.com/2005/08/13/more-unusual-scuba-related-activities/). They must weight them down somehow.
If you're interested in learning about other strange things people do underwater -- like underwater bicycle racing, or underwater ironing, head over to Divester (http://www.divester.com/2005/07/31/underwater-bicycle-race-photos/).
