Paddington Bear, with his trademark pot of marmalade, will be showing up on 1st class mail all over Great Britain starting on Tuesday. He'll be joined on 1st class stamps by Roald Dahl's Enormous Crocodile.
Other fictional creatures will festoon the Royal Mail's other stamp denomations as part of their Animal Tales series, including the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, Maisy, the Very Hungry Caterpillar, Beatrix Potter's The Tale of Mr Jeremy Fisher, and Boots the Cat.
I don't know about you, but these stamps are so cute I'm thinking about moving to London.
Update: looks like I don't have to move! As commenters have noted, some of these are available in the U.S. as of this past Wednesday, January 11.

Maisy is one of our favorites here! I'm thinking about breaking down and buying the set.
When I went onto the Royal Mail site, they mentioned this is a joint effort with the USPS. Anybody know when the US stamps will be coming out? I'm interested to see who they'll have on those.

The children's book stamps came out in the US on January 10. I picked up 40 of them for our birth announcements next month.
