Laurie Berkner music DVD to be co-released with Starbucks
Categories: Places To Go, Media, That's Entertainment
Laurie Berkner has charmed many of the parents who write for
Blogging Baby, not to mention their kids.
Now Berkner's production company, Too Tomatoes Records, is hitting those parents just where they are: Starbucks.
The
coffee shop and record company are co-releasing a new Laurie Berkner music DVD - interestingly, packaged in a
traditional CD-sized box - We Are…The
Laurie Berkner Band, on February 14. It's only the second time Starbucks has announced the release of a DVD
(although the first one, Lionsgate’s Akeelah and the Bee, won't be on the shelves until later this
year).
I think the strategy of targeting kids' titles to the Starbucks customers makes perfect
sense. I'll bet parents of young children are a major demographic for the ubiquitous coffee company - after all, the Starbucks cup is the
favorite accessory of every pregnant celebrity!

I think that's "Two Tomatoes" not "Too" - isn't it?

Well, technically, having recorded every episode of Jack's Big Music Show (except for one), I have pretty much all her videos (plus everyone else's) in the computer already. Half an hour or so of editing, and I could have a DVD of all her videos, plus Sweet Honey in the Rock, Milkshake, Jerry Lawson, and all the others.
Still, we'll probably pick this up to support the band anyway. The only real problem is that Starbucks' coffee sucks so I don't go in there much.
