Thingamababy's Ugly Baby Contest

AJ at Thingamababy's been discussing the Regis and Kelly Beautiful Baby contest, he points out how silly all this competition to be called beautiful is. "Every baby is beautiful, but very few achieve true moments of ugliness."

And so, he's hosting an ugly baby/toddler competition. There are rules and directions for entry and a $25 Amazon gift certificate. Nice.

I'd love to enter with this photo from the day my daughter was born. Sumo wrestler newborn is what I've always thought. But then I'd sweep the entire contest and that's just not fair.

Nope. I got it too.

Even sight unseen though, I'm gonna bet that Zen Baby's newborn hospital photo has you beat. It's so awful that I shudder every time I look at it. Truly awful, and yet I cannot bring myself to throw it away.

It's truly an awful pic. Madison must be so pleased you've shared it with the internet :)

But I still say Zen Baby's has a fair shot at matching it.

I am going to be the only one here but...I think the picture is cute!! I love her chubby cheeks. Skinny babies are ugly.

Then you wouldn't have liked her after the first 6 weeks. Because she was an ugly skinny baby. Didn't get to 20 pounds until nearly 16 months.

You know what they say Melissa, you have to enter to win.

I can safely offer you better odds than Regis, but you might be a sure thing if your nurse had a horrified grimace on her face instead of a loving smile.

Man, I was looking back through my son's baby photos from this age and there are some STRANGE ones. But oh how I miss the 'new mommy crack' that I must have been smoking because at the time I thought he was nothing but gorgeous!!
