Actor Heath Ledger plans to become a stay-at-home-dad when he's done drinkin' the bubbly after this year's Academy
Awards. Ledger and girlfriend, Michelle Williams,
have a
four-month-old daughter, Mathilda. Both are nominated and favored for Oscars for their work in
Brokeback
Mountain. But even if Ledger wins, he said he's done working for the next year so he can spend time with his
little girl and let his lady bring in the cash: "I'll be Mr. Mom...It's something that's very important to me --
something that every dad, if he can, should do his best to achieve."
Awww. I wonder if he'll start a
daddyblog...

curt said...What a joke. Another joke from the freaks of hollyfags. This girl needs a role model not some actor with a broke butt from deviant, immoral, homosexuality. Hopefully the state will step in and take this girl and place her whith a good christian family before she gets old enough that the harm can set in from the hollywood crowd.

People can't be forced to live lies, that's where things get immoral and dangerous. Two men participating in consensual sex isn't dangerous to society, a man who has been forced to deny his sexuality and therefore go to unlawful measures to express it (such as hustlers, child molestation, etc) is. I would hope that someday you learn that there really is love everywhere and that we can't go on denying that it comes in many forms. God wouldn't have created people different if He'd wanted everyone to be the same, and conservative legislation, as I see it, seems to want everyone to be cookie cutter cut outs, based on fear of what might happen if others took over and changed the way things have always been. There is ugliness, fear and rancor all around, but there's also love, beauty, kindness, and joy in everyone. Learn to embrace people for their differences, not judge them based upon your views and I believe you will learn what love really is. Peace.

Chris said...I'm always amazed at the stupidity of people who act as if Hollywood discovered gay people. Being gay is not about being liberal or conservative. Gay people come in all shapes and sizes, colors and creeds, and all political ideologies. We are your sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, friends and co-workers. A "Hollywood" movie did not discover us.

Yakitol said...Kip seems more concerned about the "Hollywood liberal agenda propaganda machine" and moving HIS agenda of political conservatism forward than discussing the topic. The actor played a man struggling with his love for another man, did it well and met his love of his life on the set and had a child. Now, he's putting his career on hold to be with their child and give his partner a chance to grow her career. Sounds like a stand-up guy. Sadly, if things continue Kip's way, #12's forecast will come true. Gay or straight, please don't let this happen. In a free country, not all people will ever be conservative, Christian or straight. So enough with the oppression of those of us who are happy but different from you.

Maybe the Bible you read doesn't read that way, but to the best of my knowledge, I didn't write it nor has anyone else, it is God's instructions, to His children. You cannot just make the Bible modern or it change to suit what is comfortable for you, it is what is says it is, no ands ifs or buts ! Talk to a priest or minister if you disagree. Please think about this as much as think about how much you are going to spend on some item that is temporary and materialistic and is not going to be judged at Heavens gates. It is going to happen you know? I hope you take this to heart.

Corriue said...Hey Kip,
I hate to burst your 'little' bubble, buddy, but gay people and their supporters take up a helleva lot more that 2% percent of the population, I guess all that makes you is misinformed,,not at all generous, and by the way,,,WE dont really need your generosity.
I know alot of so called 'married' people having gay affairs because through the years of their own growth and enlightenment, they have found out who they REALLY are in life.
When they younger, they were not allowed to be homest with themselves or with the people around them for fear of being thrown out of their families or communities.
Now, you sound like a right wing Christian, dont you think lying is wrong?? Whatever your agenda???
I hate to tell you this Kip, but the Creator made us ALL to exist here TOGETHER, on THIS planet, IN PEACE!!!
If you dont like it, or feel threatened, I'm sure Mars is looking for a few good men!

Call me naieve. The only reason I clicked on this was because I could not for the life of me figure out why on earth Heath Ledger, SAHD would occasion 91 comments. The gaybashing never really occured to me. And the "marry her" bullshit. Just, wow.
1. Why is their marital status anyone's business but theirs?
2. To the gentleman who made the comment about Mathilda's education making it clear to her that her father endorsed behaviour that is known to spread AIDS...Do you have children? If you do, I guess you'll have to prepare yourself for their realization that you endorse behaviour known to cause AIDS. Unless you plan on keeping them as ignorant as yourself, that is.
To Mr God Bless the USA...You've just reminded me to thank God I'm Canadian.

Bill said...The movie was made by straight men acting gay.
If the charachters were really gay, obviously gay, it never would have worked. No women would have been interested in them. Hollywood would have to use sheep as the alternate love interests instead of women.
The movie is ridiculous.

Joanne said...Wow - what a controversy about a movie! If you can get past the "gay" issue and see the movie for what it is -a spectacular story that I enjoyed very much. And though we are a Christian country lets not forget that we have the right to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That right is for all citizens, regardless of "morals". Being Gay does not hurt anyone, so why is it an issue? Remember back in the 50's and 60's when black & white were not permitted to marry, yet today it is a commonplace occurance. Is it right? Is it moral? It is not for us to judge, for it is up to each individual to judge for him/herself. And years before that when women weren't allowed to own property and were fired from their jobs when the men came home from WW2? Today that could never happen - we would be appalled if someone suggested a women be fired to give a "familyman" her job. So, people, lighten up, the world moves onward and upward. Don't forget that God made us in his image, every black, white, women, gay, yellow, and brown of us. You say the bible forbids gay love, well, it also forbids sex outside of marriage and how many of you can say you haven't done that? Let he who is without sin cast the first stone! I believe in God and in Jesus' love for us, and he said love thy neighbor as thyself - give love a chance -

Elisa said...Do we live in the Dark Ages where children need to be "Legitimized"? What the hell does that mean? Heath Ledger is staying home to take care of his daughter, that is more than many a "Legitimate" father does. Marriage does not a father make, a man who loves and raises his children and spends time with them does (as opposed to all those married men out there who pretend to be the perfect father, only to totally ignore their children the few hours they are home).

Shannon said...It's not that marriage will legitimize a child, it's the fact that men these days think it's cool playing daddy and brag about being able to breed, but they think it's stupid (or inconvenient) being a husband first. True men make legal committments to women (and vice versa) before bringing a new life into this world. It shoes true responsibility. Women who are too casual about relationships actually make themselves look bad (i.e., the old standard men are studs, women are sluts) and no one takes them seriously.
Heath & Michelle are too self-absorbed in each other to make a legal committment to each other and think having a baby is the same as adopting a puppy or kitten. It's all cutsie and fun. Eventually, the kid will grow up. Then again, like an unwanted animal, they can always stick Matilda in a shelter when they're tired of playing parent. Hey, it happens.
