Sweetest fetus soap: weird and cute?

Categories: Pregnancy & Birth

By now most of the parents around the blog-universe have seen a post somewhere about the knitted womb.  But did you know about the fetus soap?

Like a teeny bug in amber, Sweetest Fetus soap features a diminutive (and admittedly cute) “feto” made of Sculpey, encased in a vegan, lavender-scented, clear glycerine bar. For $6 and shipping (in the United States only), the soap can be had on etsy.com. Fetos come in a rainbow of skin colors, and other fetopia products have included feto fridge magnets and a set of fetus pilgrims for the Thanksgiving table.

To paraphrase Bob Costas, "I'm loathe to have a reaction to that." But I like what the maker of Sweetest Fetus soap says about fetos not aiding either the pro-life or the pro-choice agenda. Pragmatic and to the point: “Fetos are meant to represent neither living nor dead fetos. They are clay.”

Oh, and if you’re not attracted to the glycerine-encased feto, feto soaps online offers additional family-friendly shapes like dinosaurs and honey bears.
