Literary Mama in the Washington Post
Categories: Media
At Blogging Baby we love Literary Mama, the online magazine. I was pleased to see them appear in The Washington Post,
with a review of the book made up of the "stand out" pieces from the website.Sarah Gilbert reviewed the book back in January for Blogging Baby. I enjoyed reading the Post piece, particularly where Andi Buchanen and Amy Hudock explain what they're trying to accomplish with both their magazine and the book.
The editors emphasize that "motherhood as a theme is worthy of great literature -- and that mothers are capable of writing it." Buchanan and Hudock are quick to point out that this is a collection of motherhood literature, not to be confused with " 'momoir' -- dismissive label."I'm guessing they like the Mommy Blogger label about as much as I do. Which is a lot. </sarcasm>
