Baby cone of silence

Filed under: Health & Safety: Babies, Playground Bureau, Media

Okay, I know this is really odd-looking, but the concept?  Brilliant.

From our sister weblog, Gadling, Erik Olsen introduces us to the Infant Cone of Silence -- the latest in airplane gadgetry that'll help keep the peace on those long airline flights.  Through the use of a special sound-stopping polymer, this cone is placed over the heads of babies and toddlers during flight, and can reduce the sound of the baby's cries by up the 98%.  The design also ensures that the baby receives ample air, so there's no fear of suffocation.

As a parent who gets seriously paranoid about how my child is affecting other passengers, I love this.  And even though it looks sort of funny, if it'll help reduce the dirty stares from other passengers, in my book, it's worth it.

(P.S. -- Happy April Fool's Day!)
