Product Recall: American Girl jewelry
American Girl Inc. is recalling 180,000
units of girl's jewelry sold in their American Girl Place stores in Chicago and New York and their outlet store in
Wisconsin. The jewelry was not sold online or in catalogs at anytime, this recall is only for the jewelry sold in
stores between May 1999 through February 2006.The recalled jewelry contains high levels of lead, which if accidentally ingested can cause lead poisoning.
The jewelry includes necklaces, bracelets, earrings and hair accessories for girls only, not jewelry for the American Girl dolls. The jewelry’s packaging features a red and white cardboard backing with “American Girl” and “Made in China” written on the front.
The company asks that you take recalled jewelry away from children and return the items for a full refund (including tax and applicable shipping costs) to:
