Disney takes on cellphones for kids
The
Walt Disney Company announced it's cellphone service for children yesterday. The service allow parents to monitor their
kid's (or rather, their kid's phone's) location with built in GPS. Parents will also be able to control how the
phones are used in several ways. The phones can be set inactive at specific times, like during school hours. Parents can also set monthly spending limits on the phone, limiting voice, text messages and things like ring downloads. Once limits are reached, parents may increase the limit and if they choose not to, the phones will still allow kids to call home or 911.
The phones start at $59.99 with a two year contract and will look like any other phone. Disney features (ringtones, wallpaper and Disney graphics) will be available for download, some for free and others for a fee.
