Speculation time! DCFS called to the Spears/Federline household
Filed under: Celeb Kids, Life & Style, Rumors
According to the gossip whores at Entertainment Tonight, the California Department Of Children and Family Services called and asked for a sheriff's deputy to accompany DCFS investigators on Saturday around 1 p.m. today to the home of pop sensation turned professional celebrity mom Britney Spears. According to their source, a sheriff's Deputy patrol went to the house with a DCFS investigator. This is a DCFS investigation and the sheriff's department cannot release information regarding the investigation, but that doesn't mean we can't sit around this afternoon speculating wildly. Does this have something to do with the February driving-with-Sean-in-the-lap incident, or perhaps DCFS found out Brit was making Sean Preston slave for hours in that manger scene reenactment without the requisite union breaks. Could it be that Kevin has been rapping to the baby, and thus ample just cause for a DCFS intervention? Stay tuned, we'll keep you posted.

Jenny said...Or, per Celebrity Baby Blog and Star Magazine, is it the fall he took from a high chair and the resultant skull fracture that has DCFS worked up?

Nicola said...I hate that I even know this, but as stated above, he was apparently treated for a minor skull fracture. That injury in an infant results in an automatic DCFS visit in the state of CA, just a little check-in to see that everything is ok in the home.
My eyes were opened to this sort enquiry when my two year old son broke his arm last month and we were quizzed by a children and family services worker here in the state of Illinois. They keep an eye on that sort of thing in very young children.

Yep. I am sad for them going through another high profile problem no matter what happened. But I won't pretend I am defending the choice to bring a baby into that lifestyle at such a young age (and with a questionable person like the father.)

Ok, I'm done.
This has to be the most INSANE crap I have ever seen. One: They should take that baby away and give him to someone else...ANYONE else.
Two: If I hear anymore about moronic Britney and her exponentially moronic glorified boyfriend Kevin Feedyourmoneyintomybankaccount, I. will. poke. my. eyes. out. period.

Belinda said...She should have never become a mother in the first place! I HATE when celebs or ANYONE has a baby for status reasons or even better to keep their "marrage together". Those are THE WORST! If you don't plan on caring for the baby for the rest of your life, then don't even think about it! I was too young and probably should have waited when my daughter was born when I was 19, but she came unexpectedly (I was using condoms, not 100% effective) but I take care of her everyday, I love her more then life, and everything goes AFTER her! Brit don't seem to even remotely care about her son, he would have gone to the ER the first day if he was my son! Falling from the high chair! THINGS COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE!

I recently saw a picture of her grocery shopping, and she had her son seated in one of those buckets attached to the shopping cart, without fastening the belt. (And he looked to be too large for the seat as well.) It seems very likely to me that a fall from a highchair would also be caused by not properly using the safety straps.

Having seen her driving off with Sean in her lap, and now this... heck, if it's an accident it's an accident, but there seem to be a distinct lack of proper care where that poor little boy is concerned. Even my husband commented the other day that 'kids seem to be just a celebrity accessory these days' - and he doesn't even read the gossip pages!
They now have quite a stringent child safety policy here in the UK too. My little niece fell over and banged herself quite badly twice in one week, about 3 years ago (she wasn't the most co-ordinated of kids!) - my sister and her husband were very closely questioned on the second visit to the doctor, and they sent someone round from Social Services to check everything was ok. My sister found it heartbreaking that they thought she would harm her child intentionally, but I pointed out that so many kids ARE hurt intentionally, and too many kids have fallen through the cracks of what is a horrendously overstretched resource in this country. (Tragic) case in point: Victoria Climbie [http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/2062590.stm] - something that has really toughened up child protection services in the UK (thank god - but such a shame it took a wholly avoidable and heartbreaking child's death to do it).
