Another auto theft -- but this time, the perpetrator is eight years old

Categories: Health & Safety, Development, Media, That's Entertainment

From the Merced Sun Star:  Police have reported in that an eight-year-old boy stole his teacher's minivan from school and drove it home.

According to the article, the little boy stole his teacher's car keys from her purse when her back was turned, and after school, drove her Dodge Caravan "several blocks but less than a mile" to his home.

Apparently, the boy made it home without hitting anything or hurting anyone, parking the car on the street, and then going inside his house.

Jeez.

Okay, a couple of questions:

1)  How in heaven's name discipline a kid for grand theft auto?  'Cause I'm thinkin' that the "Naughty Corner" won't quite cut it on this one; and

2)  If you've stolen a car at the age of 8, what the heck will you be doing when you're a teenager?

(Thanks to Ann for the tip.)
