A pregnant woman's worries

Blogfather-to-be Zygote Daddy's father sent him this 2004 photo and caption, and he had the sense to share it with his readers. We should all thank him, and visit his blog.
That, I believe, is irony.

LB said...Hi Blue-Social services flagging someone for smoking? That's a little much, IMO.
I agree that smoking while pregnant is terrible. However one thing that makes me just steam, is when pregnant women's fears are discounted as irrational or society and doctors want to dictate what the right concerns are and anything else on her mind is pooh poohed away. If she is worried about the noise, it should be dealt with respectfully. Read The Handmaid's Tale or watch Rosemary's Baby (but not if you're currently pregnant!!)

What a moron. What a selfish, self-centered, drug-addicted moron.

Elizabeth said...Yeah, that pic was all over the blogosphere 18 months ago. I didn't find it in a search of old Blogging Baby posts, though.
I'll give her a little credit - she managed to cut down from 2 packs a day to 1/2 pack a day while she was pregnant. Quitting smoking is really hard. But it's still worse for her baby than the sound of jackhammers.

Amber said...She's 35 years old and smoking yet she worries about the effect the noise of jackhammers outside of her home will have on her unborn child? Great googly moogly lady. Go back inside, I think your soaps are back on.

(http://www.southasiabiz.com/2006/05/60_million_malnourished_and_un.html). Well, I guess mothers in India have different things to worry about- giving their kid enought to eat 3 times a day.
