Goodnight, Cancer Baby
CancerBaby died yesterday. Thank you, Amy, for telling us. CancerBaby was thirty-three years old and cancer ravaged her and took her before she could have the one thing she wanted more than anything else in her life: A baby. It seems incredibly poignant to me that she died so close to Mother's Day. Even though CancerBaby's health has been steadily worsening for the past several month, the support that she garnered on her blog never wavered. CancerBaby will be remembered for her humor, her honesty, her kindness, her spirit.
Her friend took over posting for her at the end. I don't know who she was, but she loved CancerBaby and her farewell post just about broke my heart.
Julia at Here Be Hippogriffs has a lovely tribute as well.

Jaci said...This absolutely breaks my heart. My daughters art teacher passed away last month, 26 years old and the last few years were riddled with cancer. My heart goes out to this family along with all the others that have gone through this and are going through this.

erin said...that is heartbreaking. Any age is too young to die from cancer. My husband had JUST turned 27 when he was diganosed with stage 4 brain cancer. Our children were 4 months and 20 months...
how heartbreaking for her husband and family. it is a horrible thing to endure on all sides.
