Bluebell. Madonna. Halliwell.

Last week I mentioned that Spice Girl Geri Halliwell had given birth to her first child, a daughter. Well, the name of her little girl has now been published:Bluebell Madonna Halliwell.
By way of explanation, Geri says that she was inspired by seeing the spring flowers during her pregnancy. "But what really clinched it for me was my mother telling me that the bluebell is increasingly rare - so it's a precious flower, which seems just right for my daughter," she said.
Bluebell Madonna Halliwell.
Bluebell Halliwell.
With all due respect, that poor little girl's gonna get her butt whupped at school.

But yeah. Teach the child some Akido.

karrie said...Maybe the little girl will go by Belle? I'm usually ok with unique names but this combination sounds harsh and odd to me. Not to mention that her first and last names rhyme. That's kind of icky in and of itself, and will no doubt result in taunting songs on the playground:
Bluebell Halliwell, yes its true that you smell, go away, go to hell. I'll steal your lunch, if you tell.

I'm like Karrie, I hope they call the poor child Belle or something.

sha said...*sigh* Bluebell is a good name, as Lily, Rose AND *Apple* I don't understand the desire for everyone to be named the same. how many Karen is there? how many Paul is there? if the girl get 'butt whupped' in school then it shouldn't be her fault or her name's fault, it's like blaming bullied victim for appearing weak and becoming a target.

malibustacey said...That's typical Geri! In all of the 'at home' interviews she's been doing in OK, Hello etc she's said she was going to call the baby Stella if it was a girl. As if she ever had any intention of choosing such a normal name! Mind you, Bluebell is the fifth Spice baby, after Phoenix Chi, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz so what did we really expect with that kind of competition?
