Progressive Kid: Online kids' store helping you get the message

Filed under: Work Life

Sarah Lane contacted us via our Tipline to tell us about her new company, ProgressiveKid -- and I can't articulate how thrilled I am that she did.  ProgressiveKid is an online children's store that sells organic and eco-friendly children's clothes, toys, books, shower gifts, writer packs for teen writers, soaps, balms, for heaven's sake -- everything you could possibly want for your progressive kid, all with positive messages.

And to clarify, according to her website, a Progressive Kid is one who:
  • loves and protects living things;
  • acts on principle;
  • strives to be self-aware;
  • lives healthfully;
  • honours differences in others;
  • challenges gender roles; and
  • thinks creatively.
Pretty much exactly how I'd want my daughter to be.

My only complaint?  It looks like they only ship within the United States, leaving those of us overseas out in the cold.  Hopefully they'll change their shipping policy, because I've got my eye on this "Stand for Something" t-shirt for my little girl.

Those of you in the US, however, run, do not walk to check this site out.  It's really great.
