Yesterday, Rachel Mosteller informed us of a rumour that Gwen Stefani may have had her baby on Wednesday -- turns out the rumour was incorrect. People.com is reporting that Stefani gave birth today -- a 7-1/2 pound baby boy. This is the first child of Stefani and her husband, musician Gavin Rossdale. Both mother and child are doing fine. And the little boy's name? Kingston James McGregor Rossdale.I have to say, as a woman hailing from the Caribbean, I approve.
Congratulations to the Stefani-Rossdale family!

What does your "hailing from the Caribbean" mean? I liked your blog entry but was a little confused as to the reason for the addition of that little bit of trivia. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with Caribbeans. I was just wondering if this was a way of identification. Please elucidate.

"Hailing from the Caribbean" means I'm from (and live in) the Caribbean. And since Gwen named her little boy "Kingston," which also happens to be the capital of Jamaica, I approve!
