New blog for "larger" families!
Categories: Playground Bureau
Okay, I'll admit it: I secretly look at parents with many children and think "How do they do it?" I have two and am completely and totally exhausted at all times. So when I saw a link to LargerFamilies.com, I had to take a look. Who are these people and where do they find the time to write? Do they have nannies? Are they rich? Do they do laundry and is their house as messy as mine?
LargerFamilies.com is a group blog dedicated to families that have three or more children. They have 10 moms on board over there, blogging and giving advice from the trenches.
If you have a large family, are thinking of having a large family or are just really curious as to how they do it, go take a look!

I have three and just can't seem to wrap my mind around the fact that that is a "large" family. My mom was one of nine and my grandfather was one of twelve. *Those* are large families ;)

I am always getting comments about having so many with my 3, which I don't think is large at all (my dad is from 12 and when I was growing up 3-5 kids was the norm in my neighborhood).
I'd have loved a bigger family, DH & I were shooting for at least 4, and maybe 6?? but after he got laid off and I was in car accident we decided to stop. It was an agonizing choice; I still toyed with idea of another but really after some family stuff this last year I can see that our plate is full and it's good that 3 is the magic number for us.
Thanks for this link! I love it!

I feel bad for having 2 kids (overpopulation and all), and then I read about people with 8!
I met a woman in my local grocery store who had 6 kids I believe, ALL OF THEM helping while she had the youngest in a snugli. I must admit it was kinda cool to watch. I said something about feeling whipped by 2, and she gave me that "you wimp" look.
It made me realize that she likely hears that all the time, and I resolved not to make those comments to big families anymore. It takes a lot of devotion to have a family that size these days. Hearing these women echo similiar thoughts reinforces my future need to shut my trap. :P

I grew up an only child and I'm still always amazed that 3 kids is considered a "large family."
