12-year-old British girl gives birth

Not long ago, a 12-year-old British girl came forth to announce that she was eight months pregnant. The girl is now officially Britain's youngest Mom.

The girl, whose name was not released, gave birth to a 6 pound, 13 ounce baby girl but the baby stopped breathing moments after birth. The baby is now in an incubator and may be there for several weeks.

The girl, who got pregnant when she was 11, smoked 20 cigarettes a day during her pregnancy, noting that they didn't seem to affect the pregnancy at all. She started drinking vodka at age 10 and got pregnant by a 15-year-old boy. Neighbors say the girl's mother is a heroin addict.

According to the article, there is a chance that the government might step in and take the baby away. I can only hope that if the girl is allowed to keep the child that she will take responsibility for it.
