Mom didn't know she was pregnant
Here's a story that I hear time and time again: A woman goes nine months through a pregnancy and has no idea she is pregnant. What is even weirder about this story is her background: She is 34 and already has two children.According to the article, the woman contributed her weight gain to a change in eating habits, water retention and stress. She said she did not feel the baby move during the nine months. In fact, she had no idea she was pregnant until her fiance delivered their 7 pound, 10 ounce son in their bathroom.
Honestly, I don't see why someone would lie about this situation, so I'd like to give her the benefit of the doubt. But, as someone that has been pregnant twice, I have questions. What about her menstrual cycle? Breast enlargement? A rock-hard belly? The feeling of never being able to get comfortable?
So, what about you? What was the first sign you had that you were pregnant?

Jenn said...I had almost no pregnancy symptoms, and what I did have could have been anything. I'm a big girl, with a stocky build, and I never got a big belly -- it wasn't until I was 8.5 months that anyone who didn't already know could tell I was pregnant. I gained weight, but not a whole lot.
Now, I did feel the baby move, but she was never hugely active, and there were plenty of times when I wasn't sure if what I was feeling was actually the baby!
The only reason I knew from the very beginning is because we had been TTC for months, and so I had been tracking the days (I was also on Clomid). It's very easy to go a long time and not realize your period hasn't show up, especially if you don't think you're pregnant.

I was going to go to the doctor, but my mom thought i should take a test to "rule it out"... I was also painfully tired. Since then i've had just about every pregnancy symptom possible...one month to go!
I have Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrom, so my periods have been very very irregular for years now. missed periods don't phase me.
