Knitting for marriage equality

Trey, a father and author of the blog, Daddy, Papa and Me, has embarked on a worthy project to help raise money for much needed causes. One his causes is Afghans for Afghans, a grassroots effort that creates hand-knit and crocheted blankets and sweaters, vests, hats, mittens, and socks to the beleaguered people of Afghanistan. His other cause is more political and closer to home. He is raising funds and awareness for marriage equality in the State of California. Last year the California legislature, which is dominated by Democrats, voted to make marriage equality a reality for gays and lesbians. Unfortunately, the bill was then vetoed by the governor. Trey has now launched the Knitting in Blue Marathon to help raise money to make marriage equality a reality for all families in California. For every $5 dollars donated to this cause, he will knit one row in an Afghan that will then be sent to Afghanistan. This is a wonderful effort to help those who suffer in a war torn country. It is also a chance to help so many families live in equality.
