I love the Duggars!

Any time I'm flipping through the channels and find a show on the Duggar family of Arkansas, I just have to stop and watch. You may have heard of the Duggar family. They have 16 kids. They also have a series of shows about having babies, moving in and traveling across the country on vacation.I always love to email Corrie about what the Duggars are doing next. I can't help myself; finally, I have someone who loves this large family as much as I do!
I guess what impresses me most about the Duggars is that the parents seem so calm. Perhaps it is for the TV, perhaps not, but I love how she can have 16 kids and do things like wear clothes and not lay on the floor in the fetal position every day. Because, sometimes, I feel that I need to lay in the fetal position just to get through the day.
Also, I think their new house (which they built themselves) is pretty cool.
I know there's a lot of people out there that are critical of this family, but to each their own. The kids seem happy. The parents seem happy. What else could you ask for?

I always watch all the television specials on the Duggars. I don't know whether I am more amazed by the fact that they can have that many kids and still appear so sane or that they have all those kids and hvae no debt or that they eat meals like as gut-wrenching as tater tot casserole but I can't turn the channel when the Duggars are on.
I'm like that with a lot of shows on TLC. Show me a kid born without a face, a mom giving birth to two sets of twins and then triplets, a pregnant quadriplegic, or a family of little people and I am HOOKED.

I'm fascinated with the Duggars, too. They seem very sincere. They always emphasize that children are a blessing. I think we tend to forget about that and just focus on costs, sacrifices, etc. It's obvious they get a lot of joy out of parenting.

You know, as much as I love to snark on the Duggars, a part of me is just in awe. I mean, I loose it daily with three kids, I can't imagine a whole gaggle of kids. Sometimes, I wish I had the patience and faith of the Duggars.

As much as I find it rather irresponsible in this day and age to have that many children, I too end up watching them in awe like a moth drawn to a flame, and with a little bit of envy. Anyone who is that content in their life and beliefs-it's amazing.
The tater tot casserole scares me though.

my daughter and her husband go to a church full of homeschoolers, who have houses full of children, they are modestly dressed, and follow the LORD.they don't take on debt and they are always happy!daily devotions together, family means everything!one family at the church personally knows the Duggers, they also have 16children and one on the way!i believe the world will be a better place with more families like these.the children respect the parents!the children are kind and loving and witness to other people.I'm proud of my daughter and the way my grandchildren are growing up.The children truly is a blessing!

The Duggars kind of freak me out. I remember one of the shows about them had this segment on one of their teenage sons who was probably barely 16, and he was saying "it's important that whoever I date be the person I want to marry." The family only permitted dating other fundamentalists and only in group settings. It just seemed like they were not exactly raising their kids to be independent thinkers. But then I admit, religious fundamentalism really turns me off.

I'm a huge fan of the Duggers too! I want to have a large family, but I am definitely not at the point where my house runs as well as theirs. There is lots of inspiration there for me.
