Inmates tattoo convicted child molester
Police are investigating how a convicted murderer and sex offender ended up with a tattoo on his forehead while in prison.Anthony Ray Stockelmen is serving a life sentence for the rape and murder of 10-year-old Katie Collman. The tattoo is scrawled across Stockelman's forehead and reads "Katie's Revenge." Katie's father says he suspects that other inmates, notoriously resentful of child molesters, are making a statement.
A spokesman for the correctional facility says they do not know how the photo of the tattoo got taken and distributed outside the facility, including on the Internet.
In general I'm a pacifist, but in this case I would have been in approval had the inmates chosen to do more than just tattoo Stockelman's forehead.

LS said...Screw "PC", Thordora. There are a LOT of us out here who are thinking: what an ingenius solution to the pedophile problem. Let's tattoo them all. That way, when they're released, we and our kids will know them by their foreheads. It would cut down on a lot of these ridiculous "can't live within x-number-of-feet-of" laws. When they register on the Sex Offender List, they get a tattoo at the same time. Heck, put the registration office IN a tattoo parlor!

Amy said...It's incredible to me that prison officials took him out of the general population after this happened, for his safety. What about the little girl he killed? Was he so concerned with her safety? I think the other prisoners should rip him apart. He deserves far more than what they could possibly do to him.

Jen said...I can think of much worse things that could have (and should have) happened to this man. I agree with you, LS! Tattooing these perverts would be a terrific way to keep our kids safe. That way, the next time we send little Johnny or Jill off to camp and we see their counselor has "pedophile" stamped across his forehead, we know to just turn around and walk away. No need to check an unmaintained database....I just wonder why lawmakers and special interest groups care more about the rights of sexual predators than they do about the innocent children whose lives get ruined? I'll never understand that.

VL said...I don't think that pedophiles can be "reformed" and I do not feel sorry for this man BUT the men who did this to him will probably be reentering society at some point. Is it really a good idea to encourage them to spend their tax-supported time in prison abusing people? It's outrageous that we think it's okay for prisoners to be violent when they are supposed to be preparing to join the rest of us on the outside. It's a real wonder that so many of them wind up back in prison.

Ginny said...Daisy - I HOPE it WAS murderers and rapists who did this. Are you kidding me? I wouldn't care if they said the rapists raped him first. He would have deserved it for raping and killing a little innocent girl. Sheesh. OOOH Poor rapist murderer got tattood by other rapist murderers.

Michelle said...Actually, most likely it was murderers and possibly rapists who performed this act. Child molesters and other pedophiles are regarded as the lowest form of being in prison, and often they are seperated from the general population. (My husband is a deputy sheriff and my nephew is currently serving a sentence for child molestation. Don't ask, hubby's family is messed up, I got the only "normal" one in the bunch.)
I, too think they cannot be rehabilited. If they could, we wouldn't have repeat offenders. Also, there wouldn't be the need for the strict laws governing where convicted child predators can live or work. If we have to release them, I agree with LS, tattoo them in a prominant place upon release. That would solve the problem of these people "forgetting" to register.

Mamacita said...Even the most hardened and psychotic ax murderers are incensed by people who lay a violent hand on a child. Look what happened to Jeffrey Dahmer in prison.
Sometimes justice is served in the most unusual ways.

Belinda said...THAT IS WONDERFUL! As a victim of molestation (my molester was never charged due to my mom not believing that her brother molested me, the only people that DO believe me are my fiance and my friends, no family). THEY ALL need a tatoo on their forehead!

Ginny said...Belinda - I am sorry your family doesn't believe u. I had an uncle who molested 3 girls in our family. (My sister and I were spared, thank God, because my dad was in the military and we were always far far away!). When it all "came out", his sons didn't believe the victims. This was about 15 yrs ago, and the sons have not spoken with any of us in the family since. The molester passed away and they asked us not to come to his funeral....which was fine by me.

Frankly, if this is the worst thing that happens to this jackass, he is getting off pretty easy.
