Just say "no" to the booby show?
Filed under: Teens, Health & Safety: Babies, That's Entertainment
Here in the States, we've had Sex in the City, The Sopranos, The "L" Word and Queer Eye For the Straight Guy. Well, we're not the only ones enjoying shows about sex and gangsters, it turns out.The TV show "Sin Tetas," which translates to "Without Tits," is a hit in Columbia. The show follows the story of a teenage girl willing to do anything to get her chest enlarged.
Tired of being poor with hardly any job options, she wants to get a boob job so she can land herself a gangster boyfriend, called a traqueto for the sound the machine gun makes, so she can be set for life. She goes into prostitution, but can't find any clients due to her small bust size.
Many people in Columbia have a love-hate relationship with this show, which is based on a true story. Some say it forces the country to confront its demons while others call it trashy.
Many people in the city of Pereira, where the story is set, are offended by how the city is portrayed. Some think that the nonstop violence from the gangsters and teens willing to prostitute themselves to get plastic surgery is not helping the city's image.
What do you think? If we had a show like that here, would you watch it?

This seems a like a joke. Not my cup of tea. I can see how it might be appealing to some audiences though.
