PC Board picture frames
Categories: Fun & Activities
Here's another great project my new friends at Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories -- printed circuit board (PCB) picture frames. Using the PCB from an old hard drive (or, in the case of some of their examples, a pretty new hard drive), they show how to make a cool picture frame. Now, maybe it's because I'm a geek from way back, but I love the intricacies of a complex circuit board. Putting a picture of one of the kids in the middle seems like a neat idea.
Unfortunately, I don't discard old hard drives -- I either re-use them or keep them intact as archives. Still, I know where to get dead drives that I can make use of, so that's not really a problem. I imagine that using a hole saw, one could do this with just about any printed circuit board. If you've got an old drive (or any old electronics) hanging around, this would make a good gift for the geek in your life.
