Google entertains my kids
Filed under: Media, Gadgets, That's Entertainment
You may have heard that Google bought YouTube recently. YouTube is a video sharing site, kind of like Flickr for movies. The thing is, even before GooTube, as it's being called now, Google had its own video sharing site. There are a lot of good videos out there, some funny, some interesting, and some even suitable for children. My kids love watching videos on my computer, so much so that sometimes it's hard to get any work done. The kids love looking for videos of Land Rovers doing what they do best on both Google video and YouTube. Christopher Walken dancing to Fat Boy Slim's Weapon of Choice is always good. Their perennial favorites, however, have got to be Chris Bliss' amazing juggling routine and the nordic group Loituma performing Ievan Polkka (Leva's Polka). (Jared has a crush on Hanni-Mari Autere, the gal on the left end.)
I'm sure others have discovered videos their kids like. What are your favorites out there? Which videos have you bookmarked for your kids?

David Bent said...I wouldn't really recommend youtube for kids. There are a lot of crazy stuff out there that no parent in their right mind would like their kids to see. But I guess it's ok for as long as they are supervised. I am ashamed to admit that I use it to entertain my kids as well; especially when they're being too rowdy. At least with youtube they just sit down and watch and laugh. They like watching scary pranks. Like the one where you're supposed to watch a video that supposedly caught the image of a ghost. Then an old man with scary make-up jumps out and screams. They look for cars and animals too.
