Mississippi professor punishes his child with ants
Filed under: Development/Milestones: Babies, Media
A professor at Alcorn State University in Mississippi has pled guilty to one felony charge of child abuse for punishing his child by using ants as a form of torture. The professor, Festus Oguehebe, originally from Nigeria, admitted to tying up one of his children, placing him in a bathtub, covering him with ants, putting pepper in his eyes and leaving him there overnight. He is also accused of blending a pepper and putting the juice into his child's eyes and body. According to Oguehebe's lawyer, the professor's son had a bad report cardm and Oguehebe believes in "academic excellence" so he "punished" the child in the inappropriate manner. He was originally charged with five counts of child abuse, but in exchange for the plea agreement, the other four counts were dropped. Oguehebe's children are with his ex-wife. Representives of Alcorn State said that no decision has been made on the professor's future at the university.

Dawn said..."Inappropriate" is that he's allowed to plead away 4 other charges. "Inappropriate" is the way he's allowed to stay in this country, never mind his job. Unbelievable. Sick. Sick. Sick.

SpokenWord said...What he did is horrible but why must he be deported? Do you think that he could not have harmed his own child in Nigeria? That he will now turn on the neighbourhood children?? It's sad to me that you think deportation is the answer.
