Outrageous Halloween Costumes: Arab suicide bomber

Now I wasn't impressed by all the hullabaloo surrounding Linda's suggestion for a Steve Irwin barb-in-the-baby Halloween costume a few weeks ago. I mean, Steve Irwin seemed like a perfectly nice guy and like many geniuses he was certifiably insane, but it's not like his death came as a surprise to anyone (and besides, this was a guy who received near-universal condemnation a few years ago for holding his infant while in a crocodile cage). But here is a Halloween costume that I just can't find funny, even though I'm sure it puts me on the same side as all those full-of-self-righteous-indignation types in Linda's comments. See, somebody out there thought it would be funny to dress their kid up as an Arab suicide bomber. I'm sure there are a million reasons why this isn't funny, but what troubles me most is that in Palestine there are kids not much older than this who are manipulated into becoming real suicide bombers, and kids the same age as the little punk in the picture have had their martyrdom photos taken and want nothing more than to blow themselves up and take a few Isrealis with them. Just the punk-ass look on this kid's face makes me want to find his parents and show them some pictures of the mutilated torsos, decapitated heads and limbs of kids not much older than this one who have blown themselves up in real life.

This is Halloween... the time to be completely distasteful without the need for PC police to 'put your laws on our body'. news bulletin for all those white, self-loathing guilt ridden freaks out there that feel they NEED to feel bad for something as outrageous and undefendable as blowing yourself up for a god: MOST SUICIDE BOMBERS ARE FRIGGIN ARAB.... holy poop.... wow that one is hard to see. GET OVER IT and loosen up already. Part Arab here and honestly tired of liberal guilt that forces people to ignore intelligent conversation and conclusion because of a fear of offensive content. Where I come from, they SHOW the horrendous acts of violence on TV and print it on the covers of magazines... HERE - We get brad pit of Tom Cruise.... NICE.

eddie-boy said...I find Hallloween an insulting tradition, making fun of ghosts, goblins and vampires, some of whom probably died by horrible means. Also, because these are mythical creatures they have no way to defend themselves from this slander.
Perhaps it would be a better tribute to our great nation if all our chlidren just dressed up in military uniform and went door-to-door to raise money to reduce the budget deficit.
