Lego crisis on the horizon
Categories: Money & work, Media, Toys & games
If you were thinking of getting your kids some Lego sets this holiday season, you might want to do it now. According to this article, the more popular sets may be in short supply this year. A recent corporate reorganization has affected production, especially of the Duplo, Star Wars, Lego City, and Tecnik sets."Many of our most popular products are sold out," said Lego spokeswoman Charlotte Simonsen. "As part of efforts to restructure the company and focus on our core business, we had to make some cuts and the company has not had time to readjust its production," she added. Kids have been building with Lego bricks for more than fifty years and we recently bought some of the smaller bricks for Jared. I spent many hours as a child building and creating with Lego and I'm glad they're still around for my kids to enjoy.

I just blogged about this yesterday. According to this article in the Ottawa Citizen, there will be plenty of Lego in North America this Christmas, and any problems with supply are likely to be limited to European countries.
