Britney Spears files for a divorce!

From the never-saw-this-coming files, it's official: Britney Spears has filed for a divorce from Kevin Federline, the former backup dancer and rap-star wannabe who is the father of her two children. Spears filed the divorce papers today in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing the oft-used justification of "irreconcilable differences." In her petition papers, Spears is requesting legal and physical custody of both her children, one-year old Sean Preston and two-month old Jayden James. The petition would purportedly allow Federline reasonable visitation rights. Spears has hired high-powered LA divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who has represented many other celebrities in high-profile divorce cases, including Angelina Jolie, Nick Lachey and Kiefer Sutherland. There have been reports that last week Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe each asked Wasser to represent both of them in their recent split, but Wasser declined. It is unclear who K-Fed has hired to represent him in the divorce, but even with Britney's pre-nup and the limited money the pawnbroker down the street will give him for his collection of fedoras and personalized bling, I imagine K-Fed be able to find some lawyer in the yellow pages to represent him. Hey, at least K-Fed's music career is off to such a great start, so after the divorce is finalized he'll totally be able to afford all the Drakkar Noir he needs to meet a new baby mama. According to Spears' petition, the couple officially split yesterday. According to the aol-affiliated website TMZ, which broke news of the divorce, Spears claims there was no single reason for the split, but says it was "a string of events" that caused her to take this step.

dunno.... I'm sort of saddened by this...I mean those poor kids (Brit n' Kev) got NO support, ziltch ever. I know he IS a bum, but he was her bum and she has be feeling sad.
Divorce sucks. I hope we don't see sweet Britnet going all cynical and stabbing a huge knife into a wedding cake like Shanna Moekler.
While I totally think celeb divorces have greater social meaning the internet gloating going on is like shooting fish in a barrel.

Hehe, when my fiance and I saw this after watching "K-Fed" make a FOOL of himself on WWE RAW for the last two weeks or so, it was just so FUNNY!! About time!! Hey, it will give Cena some material when he is showing how much MORE talent that he has in his little finger then "K-Fed" has in his WHOLE body!

You know something?I knew it would eventually happen but I dont think its funny.I think they married for all the wrong reasons and that they didnt understand the sort of commitment and integrity needed in and for marriage.Marriage is more than sex and good 'feelings'.I think they are both immature and very full of themselves and their own sense of importance.I cant say for sure why K-Fed married her but please dont blame him alone,he didnt rape or force her into anything,she went into it with her eyes open.If they cant reconcile,then they should strive to do right by the kids and give them a good upbringing(no public dirty laundry and fighting) and Britney needs to grow up and find GOD and herself.Kevin also needs to grow up and settle hismself down-he now has 4 kids to think about and he needs to be a good example and father to them. Lets leave them be now to sort things out and grieve-after all,whatever we say,they were married and did love each other for a time.May they both get through this with God's help.
