Well, folks, it's beginning to look a lot like the holiday season: a time of family get-togethers, huge feasts, celebrations and, of course, kids. There's something magical about the way a child's face lights up when they see a festive table, a beautifully decorated room, or, frankly, a new favorite toy. It's so true: kids make the holiday.

So to kick the season off with a bang, Blogging Baby is teaming up with famed toymaker FAO Schwarz to bring to you the My Favorite Toy Photo Contest. It's simple: upload a photograph of your little one with his or her favorite toy in our My Favorite Toy Flickr Pool. Heck, upload twenty. Little Johnny can't be separated from his XBox? Upload a picture of his trancelike visage. Sweet Amy can't get enough of her Britney Spears action figure? Enter a shot of her and her favorite doll doing their best moves -- and then, oops, do it again. Enter as often as you like, of as many of your children as you like, enjoying their favorite action figures, bicycles, stuffed animals ... whatever.

On December 15th, we'll announce 10 finalists, and post their photographs here on Blogging Baby. Feel free to voice your opinion in the comments about which is your favorite -- you never know, you might influence the FAO Schwarz judges, who'll let us know who their two favorites are on the 20th. And obviously, because we're talking toys here, there will be prizes:

Each of the two FAO Schwarz winners: US$ 250 gift certificate
Each of the remaining eight finalists: US$ 50 gift certificate

Simple enough? So, come on -- start filling up that Flickr Pool. After all, you never know -- entering your photo might result in your having a great holiday season!

• Two grand prize winners will each receive FAO Schwarz gift certificates in the amount of $250.
• Eight honorable mention winners will each receive FAO Schwarz gift certificates in the amount of $50.
• Submissions will be accepted until Midnight EST on December 15, 2006.
• Winners will be notified via Flickr mail on December 20th, and will receive gift cards sent via Federal Express to the address provided upon notification (house addresses only; P.O. Boxes are not accepted).
• Gift cards can only be redeemed through FAO.com, FAO Schwarz New York, FAO Schwarz Las Vegas, or by calling 1-800-426-8697.
• Orders placed through FAO.com must be shipped within the Continental U.S. To ship internationally, please ask for a Personal Shopper when placing your order or contact our New York or Las Vegas stores.
• Winners are selected at the sole discretion of FAO Schwarz, with input from editors at Blogging Baby.
