Cute maternity dresses for the holidays

Categories: Pregnancy & birth

Dressing a pregnant body is a mixed bag. On one hand, you have a burgeoning belly to show off. On the other, you have a somewhat limited wardrobe and a big belly to dress.

Come holiday party time and you might feel that the tree skirt is the only thing left to wear.

So, in honor of the holiday season with its office and dinner parties, I bring you three maternity holiday dresses that are simple and stylish in three different price ranges. They are all black because, honestly, you can't go wrong with a little black dress, even if you feel anything but little!

The first is a black, strappy empire dress by Liz Lange at Target. It is knee-length with a ribbon tie above the belly. A review of the dress on Target's website says it is made mostly out of cotton, so it seems a bit more informal than other dresses, but for $19.99, you can dress it up with a nice necklace and purse.

This strapless lace dress at Due Maternity is by Maternal America. This empire waist dress is strapless, hits just below the knee and is made out of jersey material. It has lace detail at both the bust and hemline. At $92.00, it is the mid-priced dress, but definitely my favorite.

If you're in the mood to splurge, a black formal maternity dress at Nicole Maternity Wholesale is a great option. It is also strapless with an empire waist with a black ribbon tie at the back. This one isn't as form-fitting as the Due Maternity dress, but reminds me of a dress you might see a pregnant celebrity wearing at the Oscars. This dress is $269.95 and, watch out mamas, is dry clean only.
