So apparently these commercials for Ikea's "Tidy Up" campaign were banned. I'm putting the most tame one up here, so you might wonder, "Why all the fuss?" It's either the smartest marketing idea ever, or we really need to lighten up in the West. This ad shows a young mom scrambling and shuffling through piles of clutter with great urgency. The reveal at the end should have you laughing. I have to tell you, although this is greatly exaggerated, I felt like it was one of those "been there" moments.
Here's the link to a racier, funnier parenting-related one in the series that might explain why these never aired in North America. Viewer discretion advised if battery-powered toys are offensive to you.

Old fogey that I am, it took watching the second one twice before I realized that wasn't a flashlight.
Yep, we need to lighten up.

There was a..Swedish(?) commercial that won an award a few years back, where a woman is sitting in a waiting room, and her phone rings, she digs in her purse...and what she pulls out and puts to her ear is decidedly NOT a phone.
RE: the first linked commercial...I have nightmares like that!

May said...Very clever commercials. These days, I'm not surprised to hear that these videos would be banned from being shown here. Tis sad. Well, at least we have blogs like these that can let people know what they're missing.

Judy said...hahaha! Those were awesome! Did you see the one with the couple eating spaghetti? That was hilarious! It's funny because when Kaitlyn first came home, I used to let her sleep on a pillow in the laundry basket and keep her close to me when I was doing things downstairs. I'm glad I've never misplaced her though!
