One more reason not to shop at Wal-Mart: cocaine in the toy department

Categories: Places To Go, Safety, Media, Toys & Games

A man shopping for a bike for his kid's Christmas present found a product he wasn't looking for on the shelves: a bag containing a gram of white, powdery substance that turned out to be cocaine. While scanning the toy shelves, he noticed an open pack of cigarettes. Thinking that cigarettes shouldn't be left where kids could easily found them, he picked the pack up and found about a gram of cocaine inside.

That the substance was found and turned over to police was fortunate, according to the spokeswoman for the Oklahoma police department who confiscated and destroyed the cocaine. She noted that the amount discovered could be lethal for a child. "Being in the toy department, a child could easily have found it, and children will put anything in their mouths," she said.

Police currently have no suspects: "We don't really know why someone would leave cocaine, especially in the toy department of such a big department store."
