Family Treehouse Vacation
Categories: Places To Go
One of these days, I'm going to plan a little family get away at a place like this. No one will be allowed to bring a computer, cell phone, game boy, iPod, or anything other than sandals, a good hat for the sun, and maybe a fishing pole. Yep. I feel more relaxed already.
I really crave hours of unplugged time with my kids. It seems to me that when we do get away from things -- on hikes or visits to the local farm we love so much -- they fight less, laugh more, and are more here, more part of things.
I can just see us all falling asleep on the floor of one of these treehouses, worn out from a long day of exploring the river, maybe marveling at the fireflies and talking about all the things we'd like to be and do when we grow up.
Tell us about your best family vacations.

I checked out the link. Pretty cool...for the outdoorsy type. They are even furnished! AND, for those that didn't check the link...it's in S. Carolina! We go camping all the time and this would be right up our ally. Thanks for the link.

I have always like the idea of this, and when I visit Vasteras, Sweden I always have to go by the little red house in the tree. :-) You can find more here, http://www.hotelchatter.com/city/Vasteras
The man that built this is planning to build a little red house on the moon, one day. :-)

Last year we invested in a folding camper and did a lot of weekends and one week away in the summer. No TV, no computers - it was great! Our favourite was camping a mere stones throw away from the sea in North Wales.
Plan to do much more this summer and see lots of places in the UK (where we live) that we've never really got around to seeing.
